Things to Consider for LEGO Events

If Charm City LUG is unable to support your event, please don’t be offended. There are a number of factors that might influence that decision.

  1. All of the LEGO on display are part of our member’s collections. It is personal property, and as such, security considerations to protect that property is of the utmost importance for our events. (Some of the builds we have to display can cost upwards of several thousand dollars!)
  2. It takes A LOT of time to build a new original build. If you have an event you want us to attend, reach out early, so we can plan, especially if you have interest in us building to accommodate a specific theme.
  3. It is very hard to be in two places at once. Again, consider reaching out well in advanced of your event, to increase the likelihood that someone from the LUG will be able to participate.
What We Usually Need from a Host
  1. Indoor venues are preferred, though outdoor events are possible for single day activities (weather permitting)
  2. If a host can provide tables, it helps immensely. We will work with you to identify the amount of table space needed.
  3. Table cloths are also recommended. Think of them like the framing for a painting.
  4. To help protect LEGO builds from wandering hands, we highly encourage stanchions around the display tables.
