Build Standards
While at Charm City LUG we encourage LEGO fans to get creative and build whatever they want, sometimes we strive to make LEGO building more of a ‘team sport’. In these cases, where more than one builder may be contributing to a build or layout of builds, there is value in establishing a standard to allow multiple builders to easily coordinate their efforts such that they come together seamlessly at a display event.
Below you will find standards details for various standards utilized by Charm City LUG and other AFOLs in the community.
Basic Modular
The basic standard for LEGO modular buildings as introduced by the LEGO Creator Expert theme.
Great Ball Contraption (GBC)
Created by Team Hassenplug, this standard is inspired by Rube Goldberg machines to create a endless flow of mechanical modules.
Habitats
Created by Simon Liu and friends at ToroLUG, this standard is intended to build a unique 'habitat' inspired by one or more minfigures.
Micropolis
Developed by TWINLUG, this standard is inspired by microbuilds, creating a larger city at micro scale.
Modular Integrated Landscaping System (MILS)
Developed by HispaLUG, this simple standard offers a simple flexible mechanism for building larger dioramas.
Moonbase
Championed by DixieLUG and GFLUG, this standard provides a modular expandable moonbase inspired by classic LEGO Space.
